(1) I really hope Bones adapts the BSD Beast AU into a movie or OVA series, mostly because I want to see the scene in which Akutagawa babysits Odasaku’s 15 kids (a bit ambitious, are we Oda?) animated. Then I hope someone makes a GIF of Akutagawa collapsed on the ground after the kiddies spend a whole day using Rashomon as a playground.

(2) What puts the bow on the present for me is Akutagawa actually bragging about how he’s achieved the ultimate playground skills with his ability in the epilogue. He even creates a hammock for Ranpo to demonstrate how he can now lull someone to sleep in two minutes with an oscillation rate he perfected himself, which makes me think Akutagawa rocked all of Oda’s babies with Rashomon-cradles during naptime.

(3) Akutagawa’s interactions with all the ADA members are golden, though special mention goes to Akutagawa hiding under his desk from Yosano. This is the same guy who was willing to be killed by Gide rather than live with the disgrace of defeat in the “original” universe. Is it just me, or do the Agency members fear their medic more than actual criminals trying to kill them?

(4) I also want someone to create a GIF of Akutagawa having a “glaring contest” with his paperwork. Oh, and one of Akutagawa gleefully tearing paper as the newly appointed “Shredding Ambassador.” (I can’t believe Akutagawa was actually able to wear Kunikida down and escape paperwork duties).

(5) And I think it’s so precious that Akutagawa got really into gardening thanks to Kenji. Not to mention how Akutagawa immediately connected with Atsushi over their orphaned upbringing in contrast to how they interact in the “original” universe…What could have been, right?—BSD Chat Anon

And yeah. I still honestly think this might be Akutagawa’s ending... I don’t see him staying with the mafia. Chuuya very well might end up head of the mafia eventually (but build a better mafia), but Akutagawa I think is really... not healthy there, and I genuinely think his arc is leading towards him leaving the mafia at the (very very very) end.
